Staff Spotlight, Kevin Quigley

Staff Spotlight, Kevin Quigley

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Kevin Quigley and I’m a Kitchen Manager (Cook III) at the Anna Westin House for Adults in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have been with The Emily Program for three and a half years.

Describe the path that led you to The Emily Program.

I have been a cook for nine years now. I started my career at Red Lobster. From there, I worked at a breakfast restaurant in Princeton, Minnesota and then at Handsome Hog in St. Paul. Eventually, I found my way to The Emily Program because I wanted to do something different with food.

What motivates you to show up for work each day?

What motivates me to come to work every day is the amazing team and clients we have here at the Anna Westin House. Even though our clients aren’t always in a place where they can show it, they are extremely grateful for what we cooks do for them. Helping people with my cooking gives me a sense of pride.

If you could do another job just for a day, what would it be?

If I could do another job just for one day, I’d have to pick a National Geographic cameraman. I have always been fascinated by animals and where they live throughout the world. I would love to work with animals and interact with them to see what they are like on a day-to-day basis.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

What I like to do in my free time depends on the time of year. I love to get out and golf or go to a Twins or Loons game during the summer months. During the winter, I like to go snowboarding as much as possible.
