Discover more about The Emily Program’s approach to eating disorder recovery. We present both PHP/IOP day treatment and residential options for eating disorder treatment, supplying the personalized interventions necessary to guide you along your path to recovery.
Such interventions may encompass a broad range of techniques, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT). Additional services include nutritional evaluation and counseling, wide-ranging medical and psychiatric assistance, and a selection of wellness activities like yoga, expressive arts, movement, meditation, and mindfulness therapy.
We maintain that hands-on exposure to food-related experiences is essential, so we provide supervised meals and snacks, support with meal planning, cooking, shopping, and even advice on dining out.
We also extend specialized support for LGBTQIA+ sexual and gender identity concerns and trauma recovery, ensuring that everyone who enters our doors feels welcomed, secure, and prepared to heal.
Eating Disorders Treated at Our Ohio Locations
The Emily Program offers comprehensive and specialized treatment options for various eating disorders and associated mental health conditions.
One of the most common eating disorders treated by The Emily Program is anorexia nervosa, under which individuals often experience an intense fear of weight gain, along with a distorted body image, frequently leading to severe malnutrition.
Bulimia nervosa is another disorder for which The Emily Program offers treatment. This condition, known as bulimia, is characterized by episodes of excessive eating followed by compensatory actions such as self-induced vomiting or excessive exercise to prevent weight gain.
The Emily Program also treats binge eating disorder, a condition characterized by episodes of excessive food intake and a loss of control, often triggered in response to negative emotions.
Compulsive overeating is another eating disorder behavior we provide help for where the individual displays repeated episodes of excessive eating that aren’t necessarily connected to physical hunger, which may lead to weight gain and accompanying health issues.
Additionally, The Emily Program is equipped to treat conditions like OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder) and ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).
