Sammi (she/her) a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. Sammi works with higher level of care clients as a lead therapist as well as our outpatient clients in office or virtual. She has experience with all ages and a variety of settings but tends to gravitate towards young adults. Sammi completed her master’s of Adlerian Counseling and Psychology with an emphasis in Art Therapy at Adler Graduate School here in Minnesota. Sammi began her post graduate work in a school setting to support high schoolers with individual and group therapy. She later developed her love for working with eating disorders and transitioned to The Emily Program. Sammi has loved learning and growing here ever since.
Sammi believes that therapy is a great tool to help discover our underlying psychological beliefs that contribute to our daily thoughts and actions that affect our overall mental health. Supporting all aspects of the individual is important to her, as she believes you are the expert in your own life. Sammi’s approach pulls from an Adlerian background and encompasses trauma-informed care and art therapy. Each person has a unique journey. It is her priority to meet you wherever you are at and provide a supportive collaboration to increase self-understanding through growth, accountability, and healing.
Outside of the office, you will find Sammi out and about on an outdoor adventure with family and friends or at home with her dog and cats curled up behind a good book or movie. She enjoys spending time with oil paints and ceramics, along with any classic arts and crafts or home renovation projects.
