Liz McCabe (she/her) is the Site Director at The Emily Program’s Outpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Center for Adults and Adolescents near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Liz joined The Emily Program as Site Director in 2015, expanding access to eating disorders specialty care in the southwestern Pennsylvania region. She brings over 35 years of clinical experience and program leadership to her work with clients and their support systems. While with The Emily Program, Liz has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings and across clinical practice, supervision, program development, administration, teaching, and research domains.

Liz received her PhD in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. Her PhD research focused on predictors of readmission among individuals hospitalized for treatment of anorexia nervosa. Liz has authored and co-authored articles and book chapters and frequently speaks to local and national audiences on eating disorders and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders and served as past Co-Chair of the Family Therapy Special Interest Group.

Liz has maintained a clinical practice throughout her career while applying her skills to training and leading teams to enhance client care and outcomes. She has worked to ensure that clients throughout The Emily Program and Veritas Collaborative receive effective, evidence-based care delivered compassionately by highly skilled clinicians. Currently, Liz continues her clinical work with children, adolescents, and adults through leading individual and family treatment and regularly consulting and providing clinical training to staff. She is inspired and proud to walk alongside our clients as they travel their recovery path. Liz is grateful to be able to facilitate their journey.
