Michael S. Butchko

Dr. Michael Butchko (he/his) is the Executive Director of The Emily Program’s Adult and Adolescent Outpatient & Day Treatment Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. In his role, Michael oversees the clinical and business operations of the site and fosters client-centered care teams that are empathic, collaborative, and passionate about evidence-based eating disorder prevention and care.

Michael is a Licensed Psychologist and earned his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Michael has over 15 years of clinical, research, and outreach experience in the eating disorder field.

Michael enjoys spending quality time with his partner and their three children, exploring new places, officiating high school hockey, and cheering on his Minnesota sports teams.
