Staff Spotlight, Jenna Daugherty

Staff Spotlight, Jenna Daugherty

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Jenna Daugherty, and I’ve been working at The Emily Program since 2015. I started as a dietitian at the Cleveland residential site when it opened, then moved to the Cleveland outpatient site in 2016. My current role is as a program dietitian for our adult standard program. I also recently became a clinical manager and am enjoying working more closely with employees in addition to clients!

What do you like most about your job?

I love helping clients to combat diet culture and create a healthy relationship with food. There’s nothing more rewarding than when a client is able to reincorporate foods they have struggled with their whole lives, and actually enjoy them! I also have the best colleagues in the world and I love working in such a supportive and team-based environment.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

My husband and I are huge foodies, and we love trying any restaurant that pops up in the Cleveland area. We also love traveling–our most recent trip was to Hawaii for our honeymoon and we quickly fell in love with it and can’t wait to go back! We have an equal love of relaxing at home with our toy fox terrier, Juno.

How are you managing the COVID-19 situation?

I’m taking it a day at a time, which is the best we all can do. I have found it helpful to get out in nature a little bit every day, and to make sure I’m keeping in close contact with family and friends. I remain hopeful that once this is all behind us, we will all be more grateful for the privileges we have and the physical connections we are able to make every day!

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I’m 100% Italian and proud!
