Staff Spotlight, Emma Gruhl

Tell us about yourself!
I’m Emma, and I oversee the Admissions Team at The Emily Program. We are based out of the Atrium in St. Paul, Minnesota, and I have been with TEP for just about a year and a half now!
What do you like most about your job?
I would say my favorite part is two things. The first thing is the team I work with; they really are incredible. The second thing is being the first point of contact for all of our clients. It’s such an important and meaningful step these clients are making, and I’m so thankful to be a part of their journey.
What do you want prospective Emily Program clients to know about Admissions?
One thing I would want any prospective client to know is that our Admissions team is full of such caring individuals who just want to help you. There are lots of people who are struggling with their eating every day, and while it can be hard to reach out and make that first phone call, you are in great hands when you do decide to!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I love bike riding, reading, traveling, and being with friends and family at the lake. COVID has made that harder this year…
Weirdest job you’ve ever had?
For a couple of dance competitions in high school, I counted the ‘kicks’ that teams had in their routine. There was a required amount they had to be within for Kick Routines, and I helped make sure they were in that range!
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I have an adorable niece that lives 17 hours away from me (there are lots of pictures and videos that are shared), and one day I will make sure she watches ALL the Marvel Movies with me. 😊
