Staff Spotlight, Chris Herdegen

Staff Spotlight, Chris Herdegen

Tell us about yourself!

Hello, my name is Chris Herdegen (he/him) and I am the National Facilities Manager for Accanto Health, the parent company of The Emily Program and Gather Behavioral Health. I have been an employee at The Emily Program for a little over 14 years and worked as a self-employed contractor three years before that.

What would you like people to know about the role of a Senior Facilities Manager?

The main goal in facilities is to make our spaces look great for our clients and staff and to give them all a nice, safe space to be in.

When walking through our spaces doing inspections, I often make repairs that I see before staff requests the repair, like a stained ceiling tile or a door that does not close and latch properly.

If you could do another job just for a day, what would it be?

If I could do another job for one day, it would be an over-the-road truck driver. In my position, I have taken truckloads of furniture and equipment across the country to our different locations, and I really enjoy the driving.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and my two yellow labs.

I have been asked by staff whether I have any plans on retiring soon and my answer is always: I enjoy what I am doing and do not plan on retiring anytime soon.
