The Emily Program's residential treatment program at the Anna Westin House provides comprehensive treatment for female adolescents and adults in a peaceful, supportive, home-like environment. Our neighborhood location in Chaska, a Minneapolis suburb, provides the only residential eating disorder care in Minnesota through a collaborative effort between the Emily Program and the
Anna Westin Foundation.
The Anna Westin House Program is designed to help those who need longer-term treatment, support, and structure. The care we offer combines the clinical expertise of highly experienced staff with evidence-based therapies, delivered in a comfortable community setting. We use multiple approaches to treat multiple issues and assist individuals in developing the skills that support recovery.
This holistic and non-exclusive therapeutic model addresses psychological, nutritional, psychiatric and medical needs. The program integrates cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, experiential, and family therapies with complementary approaches such as massage, spirituality, traditional Chinese medicine, yoga, music, and art therapies.
We encourage maximum involvement of each person's family and/or significant other in the various aspects of the program. Family/supporter involvement provides an understanding of the eating disorder and supports the knowledge development and skills needed for the recovery process. Since recovery happens in different ways for different people, we personalize treatment elements, length of stay, and transition to lower levels of care.
From the beginning of a resident's stay, Anna Westin House treatment planning incorporates transition to aftercare treatment. Options for transition within the Emily Program include the Intensive Day Program, the Intensive Outpatient Programs, individual, group and family therapy, medical and psychiatry services, and nutritional counseling. The Emily Program also works with other community professionals including physicians, therapists, and dietitians to establish an appropriate aftercare plan.
